In order to transfer the good practices recognised through the award to schools across the country, the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Heidehof Foundation set up the Deutsche Schulakademie in 2015. The objective is to take all models of good school practice that have been recognised through the Deutscher Schulpreis over the past fifteen years and to bring these to the wider school environment, to develop them and to anchor them in education policy. Since 2007, the winning schools have cooperated in a network and with other schools. Awarded annually, it has become the most respected recognition of excellence for schools in Germany. These two private foundations launched the Deutsche Schulpreis in 2006. The Deutsche Schulakademie was founded by the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Heidehof Foundation. The Academy provides materials on good education and school practices and organises training courses and projects. The Academy’s services are aimed at all schools in Germany as well as ministries, teacher training institutes, municipalities and private or church organizations in charge of schools. The Deutsche Schulakademie (German School Academy) is an initiative for school development and teacher training.
